Title 1 Compact
What is the Title I Compact?
The Memorial Elementary School Title 1 Compact is an agreement between the school, parents/guardians, and students that outlines how parents/guardians, the entire school staff, and the students share the responsibility for improved student academic achievement and the means by which the school and parents/guardians will build and develop a partnership that will help children achieve the State's high standards. Please read through this document and sign on the back and return to your child's teacher.
School Responsibilities:
Memorial Elementary School will provide:
- High-quality curriculum and instruction in a supportive and effective learning environment that enables students to meet the State's student achievement standards
- Opportunities for family/guardian-teacher conferences
- Reports to families/guardians on their students' progress
- Accessible forms of communication with staff for families/guardians
- Opportunities for families/guardians to participate in school events
- Information relating to the Title I Program in Milford Public Schools and family/guardian engagement opportunities
Parent/Guardian Responsibilities:
We, as parents/guardians will support our children's learning in the following ways:
- Ensure regular attendance to school except when child is ill
- Set up routines to promote learning at home
- Monitor use of devices and digital media
- Stay informed about my child's education, read all communication from the school and respond as appropriate
- Encourage positive attitudes towards school and learning
- Attend open house, parent/guardian meetings, and family engagement events to the extent possible
Student Responsibilities:
I, as the student, will share the responsibility in the following ways:
- Attend school regularly
- Do my best every day
- Ask questions if I do not understand classwork or homework
