Mrs. Lisa Burns - Principal

Welcome to Memorial Elementary School!  I am excited to be entering my 14th year as the Principal of Memorial Elementary School!  Prior to working at Memorial, I was the Director of Shining Star Early Childhood Center.  I am a lifelong Milford resident and I was a student at Memorial Elementary School.  After graduating from Milford High School, I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Vermont.  I taught in a Reggio Emilia inspired preschool in Connecticut, before returning to my hometown of Milford Massachusetts.  I obtained a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Lesley University and a second Master’s Degree in Education Leadership from Endicott College.

Please contact me at any time! I look forward to partnering with families during your time at Memorial Elementary School!

Ms. Samantha Hinnant - Assistant Principal

Welcome to Memorial Elementary! I am honored to serve as the Assistant Principal of Memorial Elementary School. I was born and raised in Grand Junction, Colorado where I completed my undergraduate degree at Colorado Mesa University. I had the privilege of completing my student teaching at New Emerson, an award-winning school that started in 1995 and drew inspiration from the New Zealand method of reading. My passion for teaching started at New Emerson and brought me to Orlando, Florida. In Florida, I was a first and second grade classroom teacher as well as a literacy coach.

After relocating to Milford, I completed my Masters in Teaching English as a Second Language at Framingham State University. I served as an English Language (EL) Development pull-out teacher and the EL Coordinator for both Brookside and Memorial prior to becoming the Assistant Principal.

Please feel free to contact me at any time. I look forward to a successful school year!
