About MES
Memorial Elementary School is one of two schools in Milford that serves students in Grades K through 2. Housing approximately 480 students and 90 professional and support staff, Memorial is a welcoming and caring community. Memorial has 8 Kindergarten classrooms, 8 grade one classrooms and 8 grade two classrooms.
Memorial offers a comprehensive elementary education, focusing on the foundational skills that target the K-2 standards. All students receive instruction in core subjects: Reading, Writing, Math, Science, and Social Studies/History. Students in grades one and two participate in Physical Education, Music, Art, Media and STEM. Kindergarten students participate in Physical Education, Music, Media and STEM. Social emotional skills are integrated throughout the day in all classes, recess and lunch.
Additional educational opportunities are offered to students gaining proficiency in English through our English Language Development program. Special Education services are offered to students that qualify for those supports if they have been identified as having a disability. Counseling services are offered through our regular education and Special Education programs for students needing support with social-emotional skills. Finally, additional academic support is offered for students needing interventions in Reading and Mathematics.
